Why It Matters

Why Become a Mentor?

Mentoring is one of the most powerful things a person can do — for a young person and for themselves. Here is why it matters.

Your Story Is a Roadmap

Every experience you have had — the wins, the struggles, the lessons — is exactly what a young person needs to hear. Your story has power. Share it.

Change a Trajectory

Research shows that youth with a consistent mentor are 55% more likely to enroll in college, 78% more likely to volunteer, and significantly less likely to engage in risky behavior.

Join a Supportive Community

You won't be doing this alone. Our mentor community is active, trained, and supported. You'll have resources, guidance, and fellow mentors walking alongside you.

Grow Yourself Too

Mentoring sharpens your leadership, communication, and empathy. Many of our mentors say the relationship has grown them just as much as the youth they serve.

Who We Are Looking For

You Don't Need to Be Perfect. You Just Need to Show Up.

We are not looking for perfect people — we are looking for real ones. Mentors come from all walks of life, all professions, and all backgrounds. What they share is a genuine desire to invest in a young person and the commitment to show up consistently.

If you are 18 or older, can pass a background check, and are willing to give a few hours a month with consistency and care — you have what it takes.

  • Age 18 or older
  • Genuine passion for youth development
  • Ability to commit for a minimum of 6 months
  • Willingness to complete a background check
  • Consistent, reliable, and caring
  • Open to training and ongoing support
